Our Mission
From the very beginning of Sati, I knew I wanted the ripples of positivity to extend beyond personal wellbeing. I envisioned each purchase not just as an act of self-care but as a chance to create a wider impact - a way for our customers to contribute to something meaningful while taking care of themselves.
That’s why we donate 10% of our profits to I-India, an organisation based in Jaipur, where our textiles are made. This incredible NGO supports education, healthcare and nourishment for some of the city’s most vulnerable children.
On my recent trip to India, I had the opportunity to visit one of the school's this NGO has established for street children and seeing their work first-hand was deeply moving and reinforced why this mission feels aligned.
The Reality for Street Children
I-India works across 20 slums in Jaipur, providing free education and essential support to children facing homelessness, malnutrition and extreme poverty.
Many of these children live and work on the streets. Some are orphans while others have run away from abusive homes and many are drawn into child labour at a very young age.
In Jaipur, one of the most common jobs is rag-picking, where children as young as six sift through rubbish to collect recyclable materials. They wake before dawn, carrying heavy sacks through the streets, often searching alongside stray animals.
Beyond the physical hardship, there is deep emotional trauma. Many children arrive at I-India severely traumatised and some don’t speak for months. Feelings of shame and self-blame are common and healing can take years.

How I-India Helps
Today, I-India supports around 2,000 children through its street schools, homes and outreach programmes. Their work goes far beyond education. They provide:
- Nutritious daily meals
- Medical care and full-time nursing support
- Hygiene and reproductive health education
- Outreach to children at railway stations and street points
- A mobile “Shower Bus” offering washing facilities
- Hospital partnerships for free treatment
- Education for families around malnutrition and infant health
Teachers also visit the slums door-to-door, assessing what each family needs and helping children enrol in school. Everything is covered - school transport, books, uniforms, healthcare (including glasses if needed) and daily lunches.
Visiting the School
Walking through the school was incredibly moving. The building itself felt calm, clean and thoughtfully designed for learning but what stayed with me most were the children.
They greeted me in every classroom with cheerful “hello ma’am”s, their faces bright with curiosity and joy. Seeing children who have been given a real chance to learn, grow and explore their potential was very special.
I was equally struck by the teachers - their compassion, professionalism and genuine care for the children was unmistakable.
Why We Support I-India
Finding charities in India that operate with integrity isn’t always easy (sadly, not all donations reach the people they’re intended to help) but I-India is different.
They are transparent and committed to long-term change. This one school alone supports 400 students.
Knowing that every Sati purchase contributes to this work makes what we create feel even more meaningful. When you choose Sati, you’re not just investing in your own wellbeing, you’re helping provide education, safety and hope to children who need it most. That feels like a ripple worth creating 🫶🏽
