Each scarf is printed by hand using 7 individually carved wooden blocks. The black print is made from a paste of fermented iron, jaggery and water - an ancient recipe that involves extracting rust from scrap metal. Before being printed, the cloth is dipped in a solution of harda (a native Indian fruit) which helps the print paste bind to the fabric and gives it an ivory tone.
Please note due to the organic processes we use, colour and print variations are inevitable but this adds to the uniqueness of your product. Learn more about our sustainable design process here.
